The bike ride, which takes place on Sunday 29th September, will link the charity's two children's hospices. Last year saw 300 riders take part and raise an incredible £50,000 for Shooting Star CHASE and this year they are hoping to reach new heights!
The Hospice to Hospice Bike Ride is a great way to get together with your family, friends and colleagues. No matter what your fitness level – you can take part and raise vital funds to support local families with children or teenagers with life-limiting conditions.
They're looking to attract cyclists from all backgrounds - not just experienced competitors but families with children who are looking for an exciting activity to take part in. The route will take you through some of Surrey’s and London’s beautiful sights including the River Thames, Bushy Park, Hampton Court, as well as the North Downs and Box Hill. Sections of the route also follow the famous 2012 Olympic road race cycling route.
This is a fantastic day our for all the family - a weekend event you don't want to miss! The entry fees are as follows:
70 mile route (this route is for riders over 16 years old): £25
50 mile route: Adult: £23 Child: £18
20 mile route: Adult: £18 Child: £13
The minimum age for participation is 12. All under 16s MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult. Under 16’s are eligible for child fee. 70 mile route is for riders 16 years old and over. The charity asks that all cyclists wear a helmet and some form of hi-vis comfortable clothing. If you choose not to wear a helmet you will be asked to sign a disclaimer on the morning of the ride.
Entry fees include an optional free bike check at the beginning of the ride by Sigma Sports, training advice, fundraising info, t-shirt, refreshments along the route, mechanical and recovery support, commemorative medal and a well deserved lunch! As well as the opportunity to start and finish at the beautiful Painshill Park.
