Philip was filming in Blackpool this week and local photographer Darren Lewis was on site to get some shots which he has very kindly agreed to let us feature here. In the scene, a very brave Philip is filmed being knocked over by an approaching car. It has been confirmed today that Philip Glenister will be appearing at San Diego Comic Con alongside some of the cast and crew of his new Cinemax/HBO project, Outcast. They will take part in a panel on Saturday 11th July at 3pm, with autograph signings to follow at 5.45pm. HBO sister channel Cinemax also announced some Comic-Con news: It’s bringing a first look at “Outcast,” the upcoming Robert Kirkman series based on the Skybound/Image comic produced for Cinemax by Fox International Studios (FIS). That panel will be moderated by Kumail Nanjiani (HBO’s “Silicon Valley”). Panelists include creators and executive producers Kirkman and Chris Black and cast members Patrick Fugit (Kyle Barnes), Philip Glenister (Reverend Anderson), Wrenn Schmidt (Megan Holter), and two surprise special guest panelists. An autograph signing is scheduled to follow. The “Outcast” panel is befitting the event, as Cinemax announced the series’ pilot order at last year’s Comic-Con. As a rule, Philp rarely attends conventions, especially not in the US (the last convention he attended was three years ago in the UK, so this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of Philip's American fans to meet him.
Unfortunately this hugely popular event is now sold out, but we are still hopeful of some photographs from the day and possibly a video of the panel Last week, Momentum held their tenth annual charity golf day and were joined by patron, Philip and a host of other celebrities including: Sky TV tennis presenter Barry Cowan, Bob Pugh from Game of Thrones, football legend Steve Coppell, George Asprey who plays Scar in The Lion King, comedian and writer Dominic Holland and Nick Knowles and Billy Byrne from DIY SOS.
Momentum have kindly provided us with two photos of Phil at the event, which you can see below. The winning team were from law firm Slater & Gordon, but Philip was not part of that team, but spectators say he playd well. Thanks to ticket sales, several generous donations, matched funded players and an auction (hopsted by comedian Dominic Holland), the event raised just over £10500. Momentum would like to thank all who played or contributed. On Wednesday 6th May, Philip attended the annual Shooting Star Chase celebrity golf day at Wentworth Golf Club. Philip paired up with one of 30 teams and was joined in doing so by other celelebrities including Westlife’s Brian McFadden, TV presenters Bobby Davro and Andrew Castle, actor Colin Salmon, and sports stars Gary Player and Tiff Needell.
The day’s events were followed with a prize giving ceremony and fundraising auction hosted by John Inverdale and the evening entertainment was provided by comedian Bobby Davro and musical trio The Patriot Girls. “It’s fantastic that we can raise so much money for such an important cause. I am really proud to be involved in this day and we are really grateful to all the celebrities that give up their free time to come along and make the day a triumphant success. I was pleased to see the great turn out of more than 300 attendees, together raising an amazing amount to the Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice!” said Lusso Homes Director Neil Jones. Sylvia La Porte, Corporate Relationship Manager at the charity said “we are delighted to have Lusso Homes as our charity partner raising vital funds and awareness of our work, the Golf Day at Wentworth was an excellent launch event and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Neil and the Lusso Homes Team” Shooting Star Chase and Lusso Homes have very kindly provided the following 'exclusive' photos of Philip at the event.
