Philip's CV has been updated to reveal that he will be starring in a new comedy written by David Walliams. 'Big School' (working title: 'Autumn Leaves') is a BBC production and is expected to air on BBC1 later this year. The 6 part series is set in the dysfunctional staffroom of an urban secondary school, and stars Walliams as a chemistry teacher hopelessly in love with a new French teacher, who is in turn being pursued by a “lothario” gym teacher. A BBC release claims the show will be "as if Grange Hill has met Remains of The Day...It is about a dysfunctional staff room, unrequited love and interactive white boards."
Philip will play Mr Gunn the "lothario" gym teacher. Catherine Tate also stars as Miss Postern, the French teacher and Francis de la Tour will play Ms Baron, the no-nonsense, plain-speaking headmistress of Greybridge School. Joanna Scanlan will play Mrs Klebb, the nosey and interfering drama teacher, while Steve Speirs plays Mr Barber, the pessimistic geography teacher who’s counting down the days until he can retire. Finally, Daniel Rigby will play Mr Martin, the mod-like music teacher who desperately wants to be mates with the kids and still clings to his dream of becoming a rock star. Filming will commence within the next few weeks in the Greater London area. You can read the full BBC press-release here. Max Beesley appears to have confirmed via Twitter that Mad Dogs 3 will air in June. Today he tweeted the following: OK so #MADDOGS3 is being shown in June, sorry for delay hope you all remember it! I promise you wont be disappointed Meanwhile, there are small snippets of the next series in the new Sky 1 drama advert 'Believe in Better'. Mad Dogs 3 to be put back to June?8/3/2013 There is speculation that Sky could push the third series of Mad Dogs back to June. They had originally announced that it would air mid-april but a message has appeared on Phil's official site that states: "A scheduling decision for the latest series of Mad Dogs on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD is still to be made and confirmed. Schedulers at Sky had previously been looking at a mid April 2013 slot but it's possible that this may now move to June 2013." We will let you know as soon as we receive confirmation from an official source. Philip is to host this years Momentum Celebrity Golf Day. This is an annual event that Phil has been involved in on several occasions. The charity aims to help children and the families of children undergoing treatment for cancer in Surrey and South West London.
This year's event will take place on on Friday 14th June at Richmond Golf Club and fans are asked to contact the Momentum office on 0208 974 5931 for more information. Marc Warren and John Simm have both tweeted pictures from the final day of filming for Mad Dogs 4 out in South Africa. We wish all the boys a safe journey home and hope for lots of success for the final to series of Mad Dogs.
Sky have released some information about Series 3 of Mad dogs including a new promotional photo. The information may be considered spoiler-y so we've hidden it under the button below. If you don't want to know, don't click. The last time we saw the boys, they had finally escaped the clutches of an unhinged criminal known as Mackenzie. But when the doors open on the sea container the lads decided to hide in, they are shocked to discover they are actually in Morocco. Next thing the boys know, they are being interrogated in a Guantanamo-style prison camp somewhere in the desert. Slowly, they start to realise this isn't a criminal outfit - it's the British Foreign office. But on the way out of the camp, someone starts to shoot at them - Rick's phone call to HM revenue and Customs has kicked into motion a chain of events that sees things spiral even further out of the boys' control... Also, the DVD release date has been announced as 29th April 2013 and can already be pre-ordered through our shop.
