The Digital Theatre website is providing live coverage of tonight's 58th Evening Standard Theatre Awards, at which 'This House' is nominated for Best Play. Of course, we will be updating the site with news and photographs as soon as possible. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish Philip Glenister and the rest of the cast and crew good luck for tonight's awards. Philip Glenister in 'Covington Cross'25/11/2012 You may have seen a listing in Phil's filmography for a television show called 'Covington Cross'. The episode in which Phil appeared in was actually un-aired when the series was originally shown in 1992, but the episode has recently appeared on youtube. Set in medieval England, Covington Cross follows the daily intrigues of Sir Thomas Grey, a widower, and his children (three sons and a daughter). Philip appeared in Episode 8: Eviction and played 'Samuel'. The links to the episode and timings of Phil's appearance are given below. Episode 8: Part 1 (at 07:36 and 18:14) Episode 8: Part 2 (at 04:00, 04:45, 05:15, 09:55 and 10:42) Episode 8: Part 3 (at 3.30, 5:05, 7:11 and 11.30) Thanks to Theresa and Lynda for the information! This House has made the short-list for 'Best Play' at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards. It is up against:
There is also a Best Actor nomination for Charles Edwards (for The King's Speech and This House) but, unfortunately nothing for Philip on this occasion. The awards ceremony will take place at the Savoy Hotel on 25th November and will be hosted by James Corden. Poirot role confirmed.11/11/2012 Philip's agents Ken McReddie Associates have updated his CV to reflect a role in Poirot next year. Also another star of the episode, Alice Orr-Ewing, tweeted the following on the 5th November: "That's a wrap! But at least I have my lovely book for a little memento. What a charming cast!" The tweet was accompanied by this photo (a copy of the Agatha Chistie book, signed by all the cast, including Philip Glenister who has signed his "Boydy" in recognition of his character!): So it seems filming has finished, so it won't be this that is preventing Philip from rejoining This House. He must have something else in the pipeline. Exciting stuff.
Thanks to Tom for the heads up! We have now added a 'Scripts' page to the site where you can find some of the shooting scripts for shows that Philip has appeared in. This can be located in the 'Media' section of the site.
Also in the 'Media' section, we have added several new photos to the 'Miscellaneous' archive. Enjoy! Philip to star in Poirot next year?9/11/2012 The Internet Movie Database has Philip listed as starring in an episode of Agatha Christie's Poirot in 2013. The episode is entitled 'Curtain' and Philip will play a character called 'Sir William Boyd-Carrington'.
This role will see him reunited with 'Hidden' co-star David Suchet, who plays the fictional Belgian detective. Other stars of this episode are, Hugh Fraser, Helen Baxendale and Shaun Dingwall (who starred alongside Philip in 'Lloyd and Hill'). We assume this is the filming commitment that prevents Philip from continuing with the role of Walter Harrison in 'This House', but we cannot confirm that as yet. Thanks to Monika for the heads up on this. We'll bring you more news on this as we get it, so keep your eyes peeled. |
