Why not head on over there now and see what people, including his wife Beth, niece Emily and Ashes co-star Keeley Hawes, have to say about him?
Today we have updated the site and have added a new page in the Biography section called, 'Philip...by others'. We aim to make this a collection of quotes from people who know or have worked with Philip.

Mad Dogs 4 to be a two-part finale17/1/2013 Sky have announced that the fourth series of Mad Dogs will be the last and it will take the form of a 2 part finale. Max Beesley, Philip Glenister, John Simm and Marc Warren will all return in this final instalment which goes into production next month and is set to air this Spring, shortly after the conclusion of the third series. EDIT (June 2013): Sky have now confirmed that Mad Dogs Series 4 won't air until 2014. We've just been informed that the new series of Poirot, in which Phil was to star, has been filmed back to front - Phil's episode - the final ever was the first one filmed. This was so that Suchet didn't have to say goodbye to his character with the ending of 'Curtain' (which if you've read it you will understand).
Curtain finished filming in October, but the first episode won't start filming until mid-May. With post production to follow and ITV going on record to say that the episodes will be broadcast over a 2 year period, it looks likely that Phil's episode, 'Curtain' will not air until late 2014, possibly even into 2015. We will keep you updated when we find out anymore. The Entertainment Focus website has revealed that Philip's character in the audio film 'The Minster of Chance' will be called The Summer King and he will play opposite Julian Wadham's character The Minister. More information about the character of The Summer King will be provided when known. Other exciting news for 'The Minister of Chance' this week is that it has been nominated in the BBC Audio Drama Awards in the category of 'Best Online Only Audio Drama'. We wish everyone involved with the project luck for the Awards ceremony which will take place on Sunday 27 January 2013. Filming for Mad Dogs S4 is to begin at the end of January. The cast are travelling out to Cape Town on the 28th January and filming is expected to last 6 weeks. This would explain why Philip was unable to transfer to the Olivier with This House.
The news was inadvertently announced by Max Beesley on Twitter but, after John Simm tweeted him to remind him it was "supposed to be a secret", he has removed it. |
