The Hollow Crown series 2 is expected to air in 2016.
Thanks to Twitter, we can today bring you the first photos of Philip in costume for his upcoming role as Lord Talbot, in The Hollow Crown series 2. Filming has been taking place at Wells Cathedral, which has been turned into a medieval masterpiece this week. Niall Pearce was there and snapped the following pictures of Philip on a cheeky tea break. (Click to view larger images.) And Emma Goddard, also snapped a couple too. She'd only been there fifteen minutes and saw Philip - what great timing! There is no filming tomorrow and the final day at the Cathedral is Friday - if any of our readers do go, we hope you get some pics and will be kind enough to share them!
The Hollow Crown series 2 is expected to air in 2016.

Philip has been voted one of the 1000 most influential Londoners of 2014. The list, produced by the London Evening Standard in association with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that aims to celebrate the men and women who are writing a new chapter in the history of the world's greatest city. The list is split into seventeen different categories from Global Humanitarianism to Music, Politics to Sport to Innovators. Philip appears on the Screensavers: TV Drama list, alongside 18 others including, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Bonneville, David Tennant and Billie Piper. Each person who appears on the list gets a short paragraph written about them and here is what they had to say about Philip: With a flair for playing warm-hearted rough diamonds, Glenister is the natural heir to John Thaw. He already had starring roles in Coupling, Roger Roger and State of Play under his belt when he essayed the role for which he became most treasured — that of Gene Hunt in Life on Mars and then Ashes to Ashes. More recently, he’s given us Mad Dogs, Big School and From There to Here. Not sure where they got their information from, but as far as we know Philip was never in Coupling.
Nevertheless, we would like to offer our hearty congratulations to Philip on receiving such an honour and hope to see him on the list in years to come! You can view the full list on the Evening Standard's website. Philip is lending his voice to adverts encouraging people to stay safe online. News about 'For the Love of Cars' series 213/10/2014 It has been announced today that the second series of For the Love of Cars (currently in production for broadcast in spring 2015) will be 8 episodes and will feature cars from outside the UK. This marks an increase of one episode on the last series, but it is unclear yet as to whether there will be an auction at the end as with the series one. See the tweets below that brought the announcements: Phil, Ant and the rest of the production team have been very busy over the last few weeks, filming as far north as Inverness. They have kindly provided us with some behind the scenes photos, which you can find in our dedicated gallery.
We're expecting some more news of little changes to the new series within the next few days so watch this space. It has been announced today that Philip will join the cast of the BBC's Shakespeare series, 'The Hollow Crown: War of the Roses'. The series comprises three of Shakespeare's plays; Henry VI Part 1, Henry V Part 2, and Richard III.
He will play Lord Talbot (The Earl of Shrewsbury) in Henry VI Part 1, alongside Sophie Okonedo (Queen Margaret), Hugh Bonneville (Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester), Adrian Dunbar (Plantagenet) and Michael Gambon (Mortimer). Lord Talbot is presented as the epitome of a late medieval soldier; noble, chivalrous and fighting for the honor of king and country. Phil's Ashes to Ashes co-star, Keeley Hawes is also working on this project, but she is set to be in Richard III. Filming has begun this week on the series, but as yet there is no air date for it. |
