On Monday 22nd May, Philip appeared on ITV's daytime chat show This Morning to talk about his new BBC drama Steeltown Murders.

He spoke about the show and how he worked on his Welsh accent - with his mum! He was also asked about the possibility of a return of Gene Hunt, but don't get your hopes up too quickly - despite what's been reported by the writers of Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, Phil said he didn't know if it would happen.

BBC Radio 2: Tracks of my Years

This week, he sat down with Vernon Kay to talk about his favourite records on the BBC Radio 2 show 'Tracks of my Years'. From The Beatles to Harry Styles, Philip takes us on a journey through his life and work, picking the songs that evoke memories and mark special occasions (or, that his teenage daughter told him he had to choose! LOL).

The One Show - 15th May 2023

Philip was on BBC's The One Show tonight to promote his new drama Steeltown Murders. He spoke with Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas about making the show and his characters motivations. If you missed it, you can watch the clip below:

Steeltown Murders starts tonight at 9pm on BBC One and all episodes will be available on iPlayer straight after broadcast.

Steeltown Murders: Trailer

The BBC have today released the trailer for new drama, Steeltown Murders.

Set in both 1973 and the early 2000s, Steeltown Murders centres on the hunt to catch the killer of three young women in the Port Talbot area and the remarkable story of how - in the first case of its kind - the mystery was solved almost 30 years later using pioneering DNA evidence.
Contrasting the policing methods of the 1970s with the forensic breakthroughs of the early Noughties, Steeltown Murders is a portrait of a town dealing with the repercussions of an unsolved case three decades on, and asks if justice can ever truly be found.

The four part series will air on Monday 15th May 2023 at 9pm.

The BBC have confirmed that four-part series, Steeltown Murders will air on Monday 15th May 2023 at 9pm.

They have also released the artwork for the series (above) and some first look production stills (below).
