Royal Bastards: Rise of the Tudors Premiere Date

Philip's new show, Royal Bastards: Rise of the Tudors, finally has an air date.

The show, dubbed the real Game of Thrones, features three of the country’s finest actors as ‘storytellers’, showcasing the events from three different perspectives: Sophie Rundle (as the voice of Margaret Beaufort), Sheila Atim (House of Lancaster), & Philip Glenister (House of York) transport us back to the tumult of Britain’s medieval Royal Court, where death and disaster lurk around every corner.

The show will air Tuesdays at 9pm on Sky History, beginning the 22nd November.

Two teaser trailers have been released with the full trailer being available from Monday.

New Radio Drama: The Voyage of the St. Louis

This Saturday (24th April), BBC Radio 4 will air a new drama starring Philip: The Voyage of the St Louis

Several months before the outbreak of the Second World War, an ocean liner, the St Louis, leaves Germany with over 900 Jewish refugees on-board, all hoping to escape persecution. The incredible true story of that journey is now brought to vivid life in Tom Stoppard’s adaptation of Daniel Kehlmann’s play, which was awarded Best Adaptation at the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2021.

Based on the book The Voyage of the Damned by Gordon Thomas and Max Morgan-Witts, this repeat broadcast is dedicated to the memory of the great actor Paul Ritter.

Outcast Series 2 finally gets US release date

Cinemax and HBO have finally confirmed that the second season of Outcast, which aired internationally in April, will hit screens in the US in July 2018.

It's been a long time but Cinemax will support the airing by re-broadcasting the first season on Cinemax and adding it to HBO Go and HBO Now, so new fans can discover it before the second season starts.

As for the fate of the show? According to Deadline, “the options on the cast have long lapsed.” But, never say never. Kary Ahtolis, president of HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming has spoken with Skybound CEO David Alpert on the matter and said,

We’re trying to give it its best platform. Ramping up our new slate of shows, and all the promotion that’s going into it, hopefully, will give it a runway. I think the new season is very strong, and I hope it’s got a bit more fun and entertainment in it, and is a step forward. In success, we left open the possibility that we could have a conversation about figuring out a way to bring it back

OUTCAST (July) continues the suspenseful mystery of what lies behind Rome’s supernatural manifestations in the second season of the Skybound/Image comic title by Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta. Patrick Fugit (“Gone Girl,” HBO’s “Cinema Verité”) stars as Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of Reverend Anderson, played by Philip Glenister (“Kingdom of Heaven”), a preacher who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil, Kyle struggles to protect those he holds most dear, now that otherworldly threats prove greater than anticipated. His struggle will grow into a fight for all of his hometown of Rome, as he discovers the haunting secrets of his own past.

Living The Dream confirmed for November

Sky 1 have confirmed that Philip's new show, Living the Dream will air on Thursday 2nd November at 9pm on Sky 1.

The comedy-drama tells the story of Mal Pemberton who, along with his wife, Jen (Lesley Sharp and children Tina (Rosie Day) and Freddie (Brenock O'Connor), decides it’s time to leave rainy England and move to the sunshine state of Florida.

Mal’s buys an RV Park with plans for a booming family-run business, but it soon turns out that they are not going to be living the dream they hoped. Before they’ve even settled in, Mal discovers that the park is home to a group of eccentric residents who are not exactly thrilled to meet their new owners. Jen has to learn how to survive American suburbia and the kids have to navigate a US high school.

With culture clashes aplenty, life in Britain soon seems even further away than they’d thought it would. But with the support of each other and their crazy new friends, they begin to learn how to live the American dream.

Outcast confirmed for 3rd April on FovTVUK

FOX has announced April 3rd as the UK premiere for season 2 of Robert Kirkman’s supernatural thriller Outcast. The second season will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere following the season 7 finale of The Walking Dead and it’s companion series Talking Dead - an event which they're calling 'Walkers vs Demons night'.

In a press release, creator Robert Kirkman said:

The Outcast story, although supernatural on the surface, explores how people cope with extreme circumstances while protecting the ones they love. It’s a theme with which audiences across the world can relate. “I am thrilled that audiences in over 125 different countries will soon have the chance to see how Kyle, and the other residents of Rome, West Virginia, continue to deal with a town, and a world, that is rapidly becoming darker, sinister and more unpredictable in the show’s second season.”

The time of broadcast is yet to be confirmed but we're assuming 11pm given the information about following the Walking/Talking Dead. Whether it will move to TWD's 9pm timeslot in the weeks following we do not yet know.

Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule - 23rd March

Philip's appearance on ITV panel show, 'Harry Hill's Alien fun Capsule' will be broadcast on Thursday 23rd March at 8.30pm.

The show sees two teams tasked with saving planet earth from alien invasion! Each team must find clips, people, basically anything that is fun or funny enough for Harry to place in a capsule which, in the event that we're invaded by aliens, we can present to them to demonstrate earthlings are good fun and therefore worthy of saving. Over a series of rounds, the two teams of two present Harry with fun stuff which Harry must adjudicate on and ultimately decide what's in and what's out of the Fun Capsule with the triumphant team winning bragging rights. Along the way there will be sketches, studio items and special guests. And the occasional appearance of an alien.

Other panellist in this episode include, actress Sally Lindsay and DJ Sara Cox.

Outcast Series 2 to air in April

In a surprise turn of events, Cinemax have today announced that the second series of supernatural drama Outcast, will air in April. Take a peek at the first look at Rev. Anderson from the new series.

We don't have any exact details as yet, but this means that series 2 will start less than 12 months after series 1 aired. In the meantime, enjoy the little teaser video from Cinemax.
