'From There to Here', Philip's BBC drama about the 1996 Manchester bombing, has been entered into the 2015 Seoul International Drama Awards in the Mini-Series category.
Due to this, there is also a chance the drama will be shown on Korean television. This year, for the first time, a select few of the entries will be shown on four of Korea's top TV channels to maximise the publicity of the awards. Once all entries are in and the first round of judging is completed, the organising committee will look through the nominated shows and then make a list of recommended shows to broadcast in August. This list will be then distributed to the TV stations and they can make a selection. Fingers crossed for Philip and From There to Here. The Seoul International Drama Awards will be held on 10th September 2015. ![]() Philip has been long-listed for Best Actor in the 2014 TV Choice Awards for his new BBC Drama From There to Here. The show itself is also up for 'Best New Drama' and Liz White is nominated for 'Best Actress' You can vote on the TV Choice website. As From There to Here has only just aired and is still being broadcast, there is a chance it will be overshadowed by dramas that have already been concluded so it's really important that as many of Phil's fans vote as possible. Philip's BBC comedy Big School is also long-listed for Best Comedy and Mad Dogs for Best Drama Voting on the long-list will remain open until midnight on Friday 20 June and the short-list will appear in TV Choice Magazine on Tuesday 1st July. On the 26th January, Philip attended an award ceremony at Broadcasting House, celebrating the best in BBC Audio Drama. These awards were established in 2012 to pay tribute to the cultural importance of audio drama, on air and online, and are intended to give recognition to the actors, writers, producers, sound designers and others who work in the genre. This year the awards were hosted by the BBC Director General Tony Hall and writer and performer Lenny Henry. Philip was there to present the award for Best Series or Serial. The winner was An Angel at My Table and was collected by actress, Lorraine Ashbourne; adapter, Anita Sullivan and producer Karen Rose. Looking great in a grey suit and open-necked blue shirt, Philip took on a presenting role alongside fellow actors and actresses including, Alison Steadman, Stephen Tompkinson, Jessica Raine, Mark Ravenhill, Meera Syal and Fiona Shaw. He was also there to honour long serving Archer's actress June Spencer (who plays Peggy Wolley in the drama) as she recieved a Lifetime Achievement Award. We're sure June , who has previously stated that Philip is her favourite actor, was thrilled with the flowers he presented her. We certainly would be!

It lost to Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in both it's nominated categories; Best Director and Best New Play. However, In other This House news, you can now buy a print of the poster used for the Cottesloe run in which Philip Glenister starred. The prints (which can be purchased here) start at £20 and you can choose from 'Fine Art Print', 'Photo Print' or 'Canvas' in a variety of sizes. The price does change depending on the selections you make. ![]() This House has faced further disappointment in the theatre award season...it has made the WOS short-list in only one category: 'Best Lighting Design' (Paule Cole for 'This House' and 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' at the National's Cottesloe). We of course wish it good luck in it's category but we are disappointed that none of the actors are being honoured for what is a fantastic play. The awards will be held on the 17th February 2013. |
