Philip and his wife, Beth are amongst fourteen famous faces who have been recruited to become ambassadors for The Orange Tree theatre in Richmond.
The role of the new ambassadors will be to champion the work of the theatre, after it lost regular Arts Council England funding back in 2014.

They do some very good work. If you want new writing and want to find new talent, [this is] the place where you’re going to find it. You’ve got to learn your trade. And that all starts in the local community. It’s important that local communities help and support each other.
Other ambassadors include Michael Attenborough (son of Richard), actress Samantha Bond and her husband, Alexander Hanson, broadcaster Gyles Brandreth and his wife Michelle and actress Sally Phillips.
