The London Evening Standard reports that Philip Glenister and John Simm were in last night's audience at the National Theatre for the performance of This House.
On the eve of Margaret Thatcher's death, they were joined by more than two dozen MPs of the Thatcher era including Tory grandee Sir Peter Viggers and Baroness Bottomley and her husband Sir Peter. Most had booked seats on the green benches on the stage where actors playing MPs mingle with audience members.
Whilst Mrs Thatcher doesn’t appear in the play, her presence looms large in the background as Jim Callaghan's Labour government heads for the exit.
We wonder what Philip thought of the transfer and the actor now playing his role? Must have been strange to watch.
