We are very excited to be able to announce that we are fundraising in partnership with one of the charities that Phil is patron of.
Momentum is a charity working locally in Surrey and South West London, supporting families whose children have cancer or a life-limiting condition.
To help our fundraising efforts, Phil has kindly donated an original Life on Mars script (for Series 2, Episode 4) signed by himself and co-star, John Simm. This was Phil’s own copy of the script and may contain notes about filming and dialogue changes.
The script is currently being auctioned through eBay, with a starting price of £100. THe auction will end on 27th Jun, 2016 at 12:29 pm BST.
All proceeds from this auction with go straight to Momentum to provide individually-tailored support through their family support programme, (offering emotional and practical help as well as a range of therapy services including music, dance and drama), to provide trips, treats and respite holidays to improve the facilities and healing environment for children during hospital stays.
If you are unable to bid for the script, please do consider making a small, one-off donation to support the work of this fantastic charity. (If you do this, be sure to mention the Fansite in the message box so we can keep a total of how much we have raised).
Last Friday, Philip attended the annual Momentum charity golf day at Richmond Golf Club. Philip is patron of Momentum - a charity that supports families and children with cancer being treated at Kingston Hospital Surrey.
After an 8.45am ‘shotgun start’ under glorious blue skies, 16 teams played a competition to Stableford Rules with celebrities from the Stage Golfing Society.
Philip was joined at the event by fellow celebrities, Sir Tom Courtenay, Strictly Come Dancing’s Head Judge Len Goodman, Phil Daniels, football legend Steve Coppell and former Wimbledon champion Peter Fleming.
Congratulations to the ‘Hot Tubs’ team with their celebrity Kerri Beaumont for winning the competition and thanks to comedian and writer Dominic Holland for being our auctioneer and raising bids of £4,650.
The full total raised will follow next week.

Philip is once again lined up to take part in the Celebrity Cup at the Celtic Manor Resort. The charity golf tournament pits stars from the four nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland) against each other. As in previous years, Philip will represent his mother's heritage by playing for the Welsh team (alongside Rob Brydon, Gethin Jones and Jonathan Davies
Last year, Philip helped Team Wales to win the tournament for the first time and we're hopeful that they will be victorious again this time around.
This years event takes place on the 9th & 10th of July and tickets are available from the Celtic Manor Website
Wales have won the Celebrity Cup for the first time, and couldn't have done it without a brilliant performance from Philip.
Philip, who qualifies to play for Wales because of his mother, admitted to feeling apprehensive ahead of the tournament. "I am bum-clenchingly nervous,” he said before teeing off. “I prefer to go down the Bubba Watson route and have plenty of noise on the first tee. I hate that moment when it all goes silent, it’s terrifying.”
Despite his apparent nerves, Phil put in great performances to win his first two matches on Saturday, firstly paired with Andrew Howard against Ireland's Ronnie Whelan and Brian Ormond, and then alongside Gareth Bale to beat Scotland's Alan Hansen and Kenny Dalglish, with Phil netting a hole in one on the fourth.
With Wales holding a narrow lead, Phil teamed up with team captain Rob Brydon for the third and final match on Sunday against England's Zoe Hardman and Matt Banahan. They won by two holes to set up a final against Scotland.
For the final, Philip was playing alongside Andrew Howard once more and faced Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen. Wales won all three of the matches in the final, Philip and Andrew winning by two holes.
Thanks to fans that were there on the day, we have a good number of photographs from the event which can be found in our dedicated 2015 Celebrity Cup gallery. We also have two videos courtesy of Celtic Manor Resort; the first is of Philip teeing off in Saturday's match against Scotland, and the second is of the Welsh celebration, where Philip has a little bit of an issue getting the cork out of his champagne bottle!
The event was held at the Celtic Manor Resort and was in aid of the Caron Keating foundation.
Last week, Momentum held their tenth annual charity golf day and were joined by patron, Philip and a host of other celebrities including: Sky TV tennis presenter Barry Cowan, Bob Pugh from Game of Thrones, football legend Steve Coppell, George Asprey who plays Scar in The Lion King, comedian and writer Dominic Holland and Nick Knowles and Billy Byrne from DIY SOS.
Momentum have kindly provided us with two photos of Phil at the event, which you can see below. The winning team were from law firm Slater & Gordon, but Philip was not part of that team, but spectators say he playd well.
Thanks to ticket sales, several generous donations, matched funded players and an auction (hopsted by comedian Dominic Holland), the event raised just over £10500. Momentum would like to thank all who played or contributed.
