We are pleased to announce that, thanks to visitors to this site buying through our online shop (in partnership with Amazon), we have today made a donation of £50 to Momentum, a charity of which Philip is patron, that aims to help children undergoing treatment for cancer in Surrey and Greater London.

Click the image below to see their acknowledgement email.

On the Momentum donation page, it is possible to leave a comment when you make a donation. We indicated that the donation was made on behalf of Philip by visitors to this website. Unfortunately, this remark is not shown in the above acknowledgment.

We don't know who you are, but we wish to say a massive THANK YOU to all the fans who have made purchases from our fansite shop. Your support is greatly appreciated and we hope you will continue with this support in the days to come.

The funds sent included commissions on purchases made up until to the end of September 2014. At the time of writing (25th November) we have raised £16.90 towards our next donation but Amazon won't pay out until we hit £25, so please do support this venture, especially with regards to those last minute Christmas gifts! You can buy anything that is sold on Amazon - it doesn't have to be Phil-related. Just use the Amazon search box on the shop page.

To find out more about how these shopping links work, visit our Shop FAQs page. And if you struggle to remember to visit us before visiting Amazon directly, why not add our Shop URL to your favourites or bookmarks and label it as Amazon?

I am Kloot to release 'From There to Here' Soundtrack

23/11/2014

Picture
Manchester band I Am Kloot are releasing the soundtrack to BBC drama From There to Here.

The show starred Philip Glenister and Liz White (both last on screen together in Life On Mars) as characters Daniel and Joanne who meet amid the debris of a pub, close to the bomb site. Peter Bowker, a Stockport lad and creator of the three-part series, had already commissioned a musician to soundtrack it, but wasn't happy with the results.

“Peter is aware of Kloot,” Pete explains, “and it came up that he’d done this love letter to Manchester and wanted it to be a bit warts and all and not the usual synth or strings soundtrack you have on TV shows - and he wanted us to just do something. They gave us Key scenes and I wrote a piece for the romantic scene and Andy wrote for the episode when there's a second bomb and John did the theme tune. They said, 'Yes we'll have you' straight away. Some of the songs we wrote are seven or eight minutes long and it gets a bit blade runner, but you know!" he smiles.
Kloot’s original music is now set for release as an album on 24th November on Kudos Records, with a special vinyl version featuring an image of a bomb devastated Corporation Street.

Featuring 19 tracks from the show, the soundtrack is available through our shop (all orders fulfilled by Amazon). The CD is priced at £11.99 and the vinyl at £25.99.

Track list:
1. From There to Here
2. Turning
3. The Same Deep Water As Me
4. Blue
5. A Dream (Part 1)
6. Joanne and Daniel (Part 1)
7. Euro '968. Daniel Flashback
9. Daniel Stressed
10. The Bomb
11. A Dream (Part 2)
12. Even the Stars
13. IRA Tribute Act
14. Heart Attack
15. Hospital Baby
16. Salford Refrain
17. Joanne and Daniel (Part 2)
18. Northern Skies
19. From There to Here (Reprise)

For the Love of Cars to air as early as February?

23/11/2014

Picture
Principal photography has pretty much finished on series 2 of For the Love of Cars, and the editing has begun. There's now a big push in the garages to get the cars ready for their big reveals.

The last bit of the show will be filmed in January and according to the show's official twitter account, it could be on our screens as early as February.

Their twitter account also says that they will tell us more once they hit 3000 followers, so, if you're not already following them, get yourself over to twitter and rectify your oversight as soon as possible! They are at 2988 at the time of writing, so only 12 more people needed!

Want to own the Quattro from Ashes to Ashes? Well now you can!

6/11/2014

Picture
In order to raise money for this years Children in Need appeal, the BBC are auctioning off the Audi Quattro that featured in Philip's hit 80's drama, Ashes to Ashes.

This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a genuine piece of TV history - the original Audi Quattro used in all three series of the hit BBC drama Ashes to Ashes. The iconic red motor is also signed under the bonnet by Philip Glenister, who played its short-tempered owner, DCI Gene Hunt. This autumn, the Quattro was given a fresh MOT and a makeover. But she’s a former TV action vehicle and still has a number of battle scars from the exciting life she has led.

So, fire up your wallets if you want to fire up the Quattro, bidders!

Details:
  • Red 1983 Audi Quattro
  •  2144cc Turbo charged WR Engine
  • Four-wheel (4x4) drive
  • Freshly painted and with new MOT

The Audi Quattro
has been donated by the BBC and lovingly restored by Audi. BBC Children in Need or Audi do not accept any responsibility for the car and can not offer any warranty or guarantee. All the images which feature were taken at the end of October 2014. The logistics of collecting the car must be agreed by all parties.

Every single penny raised by the auction will go towards making a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. To bid, visit the Quattro's ebay page.

Philip to star in supernatural horror pilot, Outcast

5/11/2014

Philip has been cast in Cinemax’s new exorcism drama Outcast, from The Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman. The supernatural horror project is based on Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta’s comic series of the same name which hit shelves this summer.

The pilot is being produced by FOX International channels and will also star Patrick Fugit and Gabriel Bateman.

Patrick Fugit will play Kyle Barnes, a young man who’s been plagued by possession since he was a child. He sets out to seek answers, only to uncover something that could end all life on Earth as we know it. Philip will play Reverend Anderson, a hard drinking, hard gambling West Virginian evangelical preacher who believes he’s a soldier in God’s holy war against evil. Bateman has been cast as 8-year-old Joshua Austin, a young boy who lives across town who appears to be possessed by a demon and has a mysterious connection to Kyle.

"Despite the success of 'The Walking Dead,' 'Outcast' is only my second foray into the horror genre," Kirkman has said. "I think Kyle Barnes is every bit as compelling as Rick Grimes and demonic possession is way scarier than zombies - so this is going to be fun."

Outcast doesn't have an air date yet, but we’ll keep you updated on this project as it develops.

More details about For the Love of Cars series 2

1/11/2014

Picture
Thanks to Musto Clothing, one of the clothing providers on For the Love of Cars, we can bring you some further details of the second series (which is currently filming).

In each episode, Phil and Ant will take an iconic car on an extended road trip, a trip that will act as the jumping off point to explore several other cars that are all linked together through an umbrella motoring theme.

One of these road trips sees them drive in a camper van from London to Croyden where they will brave the elements by camping out and stop to see the sights en route. Another sees them at sea, catching fish with regional fishermen, they aim to get the fresh catch to a top London restaurant as quickly as they can for evening service using an old method of transport.
