Calendar Girls (2003)
Calendar Girls is a 2003 British comedy film directed by Nigel Cole.
After the death of her best friend's husband from cancer, spirited Yorkshire housewife Chris Harper (Helen Mirren) hatches a scheme to raise money for a new sofa in the visitors lounge at the hospital. Utilizing a tradition from the hidebound Woman's Institute association, Chris encourages Annie (Julie Walters) and their friends to create a calendar - with the novel detail of using the middle-aged women of their village as nude models. They enlist one of the hospital workers, an amateur photographer named Lawrence, to help them with the concept.
The film was released in the UK on 12th September 2003.
