A film crew has painstakingly recreated the devastation of the Manchester bomb for a new TV drama. Hilton Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter has been transformed to resemble the outside of the Arndale Centre following the 1996 IRA bomb. The famous red post box which survived the Corporation Street blast has also been included.
The set has been created for new BBC 1 series From Here To There, which will tell the fictional story of three characters on the day the bomb went off. The filming has attracted huge crowds, with many onlookers taking pictures and posting tweets as the scenes are played out.
