In preparation for its screening at the Cannes Film Festival, a longer trailer has been released for Carthago.
ITV has commissioned a six-part mystery drama, After the Flood, starring Philip Glenister. It will be produced by multi award winning Manchester based executive producer Nicola Shindler and her team at Quay Street Productions in association with ITV Studios.
After the Flood is a mystery thriller set in a town hit by a devastating flood. When an unidentified man is found dead in a lift in an underground car park police assume he became trapped as the waters rose, and as the investigation unfolds PC Joanna Marshall, becomes obsessed with discovering what happened to him. The mystery unfolds across the series while we also see the real impact of climate change on the lives of residents in this small town. The floods threaten to expose secrets, and fortunes and reputations are at stake. But how far will people go to protect themselves?
Philip will play property developer, Jack Radcliffe. The show will also star Sophie Rundle (Gentleman Jack, Peaky Blinders) as police officer Joanna Marshall, Lorraine Ashbourne (Sherwood, Bridgerton, I Hate Susie) as Jo’s mother, Molly, Nicholas Gleaves (The Crown, The Rising, Bodyguard) as Sergeant Phil Mackie, Jo’s boss and surrogate father figure, and Matt Stokoe (Cursed, Jamestown) as Jo’s husband, Pat. Jonas Armstrong (The Bay, Floodlights) takes on the role of Lee, a seemingly heroic local man, and Jacqueline Boatswain (Carnival Row, Anansi Boys) is cast as local politician Sarah Mackie.
After the Flood is currently filming in northern England and will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX later in 2023. BritBox International are co-production partners for the drama.
The BBC have announced that Philip will be starring in a new drama series 'Steeltown Murders' set to air in 2023.
Set in both 1973 and the early 2000s, Steeltown Murders centres on the hunt to catch the killer of three young women in the Port Talbot area and the remarkable story of how - in the first case of its kind - the mystery was solved almost thirty years later using pioneering DNA evidence.
Contrasting the policing methods of the 1970s with the forensic breakthroughs of the early Noughties, Steeltown Murders is a portrait of a town dealing with the repercussions of an unsolved case three decades on, and asks if justice can ever truly be found.
Philip will play DCI Paul Bethell, the officer in charge of the case.
On the role, Philip said:
Ed [Talfen, executive producer]'s scripts are a poignant and compelling read, balancing the tragic events alongside the revolutionary advances in DNA profiling which were crucial in this case and many others since. I’m also very happy to be part of a production filmed in south Wales where I have my own family connections.”
Filming is currently underway in and around south Wales and northern ENgland, ahead of transmission on BBC One and iPlayer in 2023.
Philip will be appearing at this year's summer London Film and Comic Con in July.
He will be appearing on Sunday 10th July, and attendees are able to pre-book photo shoots with him and will also be able to queue for autographs on the say.
Some guests also do interviews or panels that you can attend, but these are usually confirmed nearer the time.
Adult Admission (Sunday): £22
Child Admission (Sunday): £16

Philip is to star in a new project commissioned by Israel's public broadcasting corporation.
Based on a true story, the action takes place in a British built detention camp (Carthago Camp) that was built in the remotest corner of the African wilderness to imprison the most dangerous terrorists and freedom fighters caught within the boundaries of their crumbling Empire in the 1940s. The series mixes suspense with wit as prisoners repeatedly try to break out of the inescapable hell they have been confined to.
The series will also star Irish actor, Shaun Paul McGrath.
Filming is currently taking place in Colombia and an air date has yet to be confirmed.
