I was most surprised to see the 'Lost Lotus' special a few weeks ago. When I first saw the car, I new there was something very wrong with it, it looked all wrong. Imagine my surprise when later in the programme I found out it was a car I knew. In 1968/9 I was a Rolls Royce apprentice, and helped my friend and colleague (another RR apprentice) called Mike Burnford, a farmers son from Sussex, with some work on the Lotus Elite he'd bought locally, in the garage of a house, where I seem to recall he was lodging at the time.
