#MadDogs 4 to air 29th and 30th December 2013

22/11/2013

The Sky Press Office has today confirmed that the two part finale of Mad Dogs will air on consecutive nights; Sunday 29th December and Monday 30th December 2013. Both shows will start at 9pm on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD.

The programme information given in the press release is available under the button below (WARNING: contains spoilers)

Series Four will see the conclusion of our story and the completion of our journey.

Woody (Beesley), Quinn (Glenister), Baxter (Simm) and Rick (Warren) have made their way back to Blighty, although being home is anything but sweet. Picking up where they left off is not an option and, depressed and directionless, the boys feel out of place, no more so than at Baxter’s daughter’s wedding – where one of TV’s best scuffles breaks out. Rick, however, has a solution that could pocket them 2million euros apiece and turn everything around. Of course, nothing ever goes according to plan for this lot in a fitting send-off that comes full circle, neatly nodding to the most memorable moments from series past (why, hello, dead goat floating in my swimming pool) while providing closure for a set of characters it’s sad to say goodbye to.

The press office have also released the following new promotional photo from the series:

29/10/2013

Sky have announced that hit drama Mad Dogs will be available through their NOW TV service.

The service is now offering box-sets of hit shows including series 1-3 of Mad Dogs. They have also indicated that the service will offer premiere episodes of the very latest series, including brand new drama and comedy from home and abroad, but we are awaiting confirmation of whether this will include the final series of Mad Dogs. If it will it will enable those of Phil's fans who don't have a Sky TV subscription to watch the entire series.

With the NOW TV Entertainment Monthly Pass fans have a simple, instant and contract-free way to access ten top subscription TV channels: Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts 1, Discovery, MTV, Comedy Central, GOLD, Disney and FOX. It allows customers to stream shows live and on demand on a pay-as-you-go basis - and all at an introductory price of just £4.99 a month, providing a cheaper alternative to a Sky TV subscription.

The NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass is available from today on the NOW TV Box, PS3, Roku, Macs and PCs. Other supported devices will be introduced as part of a phased roll out over the coming months including iPhone, iPad, selected Android smartphones, Xbox, LG Smart TVs and selected LG media devices. Mad Dogs 4 confirmed for Christmas 2013

2/10/2013

Sky have confirmed via Twitter that, as we expected, Mad Dogs 4 will air over the Christmas period. They confirmed the news in a tweet to fan Luke Sumner, after he had enquired when it would be shown.
Picture
With it only being a two parter, Sky have more flexibility in how they air it; it may be both episodes are shown on consecutive nights in the week or at a weekend, consecutive weeks or many other combinations.

We're expecting some more details within the next two weeks, but whether that will include broadcast dates is unclear. Watch this space!

First Clips - Mad Dogs Series 4

17/9/2013

Sky One have today released their latest Original Drama trailer which gives us a glimpse into what will be their biggest and most ambitious drama season ever, with over 100 hours of new drama this Autumn/Winter.

Contained within the trailer, which you can watch below, are several glimpses of Mad Dogs series 4, which will be a two-part conclusion to the story of Quinn, Baxter, Woody and Rick.
As you can see it looks like it's going to be a gripping end to what has been a great roller-coaster of drama. We've no confirmed air dates yet but are expecting it to be November or December.

New TV project for Philip Glenister in September?

15/8/2013

One of our "extended team" has been in touch with Philip's agent to see what projects he's got coming up in the near future. Here is their reply.
Thanks so much for your email.

Philip will be starting work on a new TV project in early September and there is still MAD DOGS 4 to be transmitted on SKY.

Best wishes
Of course we knew about Mad Dogs Series 4 (a two-part finale), but there is no confirmation of a transmission date. See our latest post here. Also, but not mentioned by his agent, is Agatha Christie's Poirot: Curtain, in which he will be playing Sir William Boyd Carrington. A twitter exchange with David Suchet, seems to indicate this won't air until late 2014.

But this news about a new TV project is very exciting. We've no idea what it is or what channel it will be on, but for Philip to continue to get TV exposure is great. As soon as we hear anything more we'll let you know.

And don't forget, Big School starts this Friday, 16th August at 9pm on BBC One/HD.
